Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) & endovascular stents were fully discussed in the aorto-iliac and femoro-popliteal segments.Other interventional procedures used in the treatment of chronic lower limb ischaemia were highlighted. Thirty cases of chronic lower limb ischaemia were treated by endovascular intervention (PTA and stents). All the results were presented, tabulated, discussed in relation to similar literature & compared with surgical treatment as an alternative. We conclude that peripheral vascular intervention in treatment of chronic lower limb ischaemia offers a very good alternative to surgery provided proper selection of indicated patients and the proper experience with catheters and guide wires. Sometimes conjoined treatment may yield the best results.
