Abstract

Breast inflammatory conditions are fairly common during the childbearing period and are usually associated with breast feeding. The mammographic appearance of the inflammatory breast is nonspecific. Since the introduction of breast ultrasound as an adjuvant tool for mammography, it has proved to be useful in investigating & monitoring the efficiency of treatment of breast local mastitis. Ultrasound is an important guide to many interventional procedures, such as FNAC & abscess drainage.
