The present work aimed at evaluation of health status and degree of disability on health care workers at the Cairo University Hospitals. Sixty-six workers infected with hepatitis B and/or C, in variable degrees, are involved in the present study. They were investigated through full clinical examination, abdominal ultrasonography as well as biochemical tests. The study provided strong evidence of serious effects of acquired viral hepatitis infection. The study discussed the relation of the degree of disability and other parameters like age, duration of exposure (employment), occupation and place of work.
