Abstract
Based on better understanding of the facts regrding urethral recurrence and continence mechanism in females we started our study which included 29 patients who underwent cystectomy and neobladder creation continence rates were 88% for diurnal continence, 74% for nuctornal continence, with 29% for hypercontinence. Stress incontinence was found in 11%of the cases. No urethral recurrence was found in our study.Based on these data and the data available from the literature we found that orthotopic neobladder in females proved to be a viable alternative in females undergoing cystectomy.
