Septoplasty has been used for decades as a treatment to correct nasal airway obstruction. The aim of our study was to compare efficacy of endoscopic septoplasty over traditional septoplasty. Thirty patients were selected. Fifteen had undergone endoscopic septoplasty and the rest undergone traditional septoplasty. Pre & postoperative evaluation were done in the form of history taking, clinical examination, nasal endoscopy & active anterior rhinomanometry. Endoscopic septoplasty was done for different types of septal deformities to show the technique & to compare efficacy with traditional septoplasty. It was found that endoscopic septoplasty is more effective than traditional septoplasty in treating nasal obstruction, correction of posterior deviations and septal spurs and prevention of contact between septum and turbinates.
