Multiple sclerosis is one of the commonest neurological diseases in young age. This study included 50 patients with definite multiple sclerosis and 20 healthy controls. Patients were evaluated clinically using rating scales: EDSS, FSS, Hamilton depression rating and Neuroradiologically using single voxel proton MR spectroscopy (TR=2000, TE=35). The NAA/Cr ratio was negatively correlated with EDSS. Cho/Cr was higher in active cases. We concluded that single voxel proton MR spectroscopy is a valuable tool in diagnosis, prognosis and follow up of treatment in patients with multiple sclerosis.
