Despite increased public awareness and aggressive education, the prevalence of obesity continues to increase. the increasing prevalence, numerous health risks , and economic cost of obesity justify wide spread efforts towards prevention and control of this problem, conservative medical treatment programs have been largely unsuccessful. surgery has become an attractive alternative because it represents a long-term solution.
