Postoperative pain is a major health problem that concerns anesthetics allover the world as postoperative pain is associated with many psychological and physiological adverse events. This study discuss role of Gabapentin in postoperative pain management beside its major role in neuropathic pain as it was proven that Gabapentin decreases opioid consumption postoperative which decreases side effects associated with opioids as respiratory depression ,nausea and vomiting and also discuss its role in preemptive analgesia.
