Abstract

This study was carried out in one of the poultry industries at El-Saff district to assess the respiratory health problems and some of the immunological changes in poultry workers through clinicalassessment, performing pulmonary function tests, skin-prick test and determination of IgE and IgG levels. It revealed increased prevalence of respiratory symptoms among poultry workers. Most of the poultry workers had decreased ventilatory pulmonary functions compared to the unexposed group. A large number of poultry workers had positive skin prick test to poultry antigen and significantly higher levels of IgE and IgG compared to the control group.
