Abstract

Post-operative pain in day case surgery remains the most common problem and can impair the quality of recovery for many days after surgery. Management relies on a combination of strategies that include assessment of the risk, a targeted approach to prophylaxis and treatment, selection of anaesthetic techniques, and use of multi-modal analgesia.Postoperative pain and nausea are common symptoms after surgical procedure and anaesthesia. Because of the complications associated with these symptoms, clinicians have attempted to determine the optimal intra-operative and post-operative managements conducted on outpatient basis
