Abstract

Liver transplantation may be the only solution for end stage liver diseases provided that ethical aspects & safety for both donor & recipient are respected in LDLT& indications & contraindications of liver transplantation in general are followed, in addition to sound proper technique.Studying of anatomy of hepatic veins, their anomalies & their imaging represents a great importance in LDLT regarding technique & post-operative outcome. The main vascular post-operative complication in LDLT is the congestion of anterior lobe.Post-operative complications of LDLT regarding hepatic veins are truly fatal up to graft rejection. Many techniques are used for hepatic veins anastomosis in LDLT with different success rates.MHV is the most important hepatic vein to anatomize during LDLT.
