LASIK was introduced in 1989, due to its precision and lack of thermal damage to surrounding tissues, LASIK rapidly replaced most of the other refractive procedures. Which are associated with residual refractive errors which could be treated with LASIK.In LASIK enhancement most cases will lead to excellent results. Some enhancements may be avoided with careful counseling, and others may not be recommended due to corneal thickness or refractive instability. LASIK after RK is a promising and safe procedure and is associated with less complication than with PRK following RK. However, great care should be taken with the flap during the entire procedure to avoid possible complications.
