Abstract

The majority of metastatic bone lesions around the hip joint are treated effectively with nonsurgical modalities. The goals of fixation are to relieve pain, improve function, facilitate medical and nursing care, and improve psychological well-being. A variety of techniques, including prosthetic reconstruction or a internal fixation combined with polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), provides immediate fixation and stability.
