Abstract

The study included 22 patients, 12 females and 10 males in whom 36 feet were operated upon to correct symptomatic flexible flat foot. There were 14 bilateral cases and 8 unilateral cases. Family history was positive in 10cases (3male and 6 female, 11 feet).The mean age at surgery was 10.4 years (range7 to17).All cases were assessed clinically, radiologicaly preoperatively and every 3 month after plaster removal for at least 8 months.all cases were available for a mean period of follow up of 18.7 months Cases with rigid flat foot and those with underlying neurological causes were excluded.
