Abstract

This research is a prospective study based on forty patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis with average years follow up. All patients were evaluated systematically with the preoperative sheet. This was a standard sheet for clinical and radiological assessment of the patients with spinal deformities. Preoperative planning including the objectives and indications of surgery then the surgical techniques and the postoperative management was discussed in detail.Posterior instrumentation and fusion (P.I.F) using hybrid technique was used in all cases preceded by anterior release and fusion. The results and the efficacy of this method of treatment in correction of scoliosis in three planes with were assessed and the complications were discussed.
