Abstract

Cubitus varus is a deformity of the elbow, due to lateral angulation of the joint, and is accompanied by deviation of the forearm towards the midline of the body when the forearm is extended. It is also called. 78 Horizontal rotation predisposes to coronal tilting, and a combination of horizontal rotation, coronal tilting, and posterior displacement can result in a three-dimensional deformity of cubitus varus. 80The pathogenesis of cubitus varus deformity after supracondylar fracture of the humerus in children had been discussed by many authors with great contradiction. Two main causes were discussed: growth disturbance and malunion. In the majority of patients, the general complaint is the deformity and not the functional disability. 13,100The child’s parents often request an operation to improve the appearance of the elbow.
