In the past, surgical intervention in eyes with subluxated lens was considered difficult, leading to many complications. However, with the advent of cutting and aspiration vitrectomy instruments, and a number of capsular support devices, surgery is becoming an increasingly popular option for the management of lens subluxation. Proper surgical management requires some understanding the severity of the zonular compromise.
