Objective: The main goal of this study was to study carefully the following issues:1. The effect of the use of different magnification powers for harvesting follicular units on their survival.2. Evaluation of best method of hair transplantation mini & micrograft or follicular unit).3. The minimal acceptance implantation distance between each graft that will ensure their survival and produce denser look of hair post-operatively.Research and method: This study was conducted on a total of twenty (20) healthy Egyptian female candidate the patient were selected from plastic surgery outpatient clinic of Cairo university hospital and from a private sector in the period from June 2006 to September 2009, these patient were selected according to the following criteria. Results: Using a 10 x microscope to harvest follicular units is best for the outcome, but needs a proper well trained team to minimize time consumption and increase intact follicular unit production from a donor hair strip. Placement of follicles as close to each other will produce the best results as regards density of hair and a more natural look. Conclusions: Patient selection is mandatory for successful hair transplantation surgery, where the low degree of FPB may have a better post-operative satisfactory cosmetic result than patients with higher grades of FPB. In patients with advanced degree of FPB, proper planning is essential for the best results. Patients should be taught what to expect which will definitely not be their original youthful look.
