Abstract

Pterygium represents a local limbal deficiency. Thus, inclusion of limbalepithelium in the conjunctival graft for pteryguim surgery would achieve betteranatomic and functional reconstruction after pterygium removal and, byrestoring barrier function of the limbus, could reduce recurrence. The aim ofwork is to compare the safety and efficacy of limbal versus conjuctival autografttransplantation for treating recurrent pterygia.
