Abstract

The aim of the study is to measure the level of C-reactive protein in COPD patients and to determine the relationship between CRP and factors known to predict outcome in stable COPD.It was found that CRP level was higher in COPD patients compared to control group and the difference was found to be statistically hgihly significant. There’s a negative correlation between CRP level and post B.D. FEV1/FVC, in which CRP is increased with the impairment of FEV1/FVC.Also CRP shows negative correlation relationship with FEV1, FVC% predicted and IC in which CRP is increased with the impairment of FEV1%, FVC% and IC%
