Abstract

Pseudotumour cerebri (PTC) is a vision threatening disease. Papilloedema caused by PTC may cause compression of the optic nerve fibers and visual loss. Medical therapy and neurosurgical shunting procedures may fail to reserve visual loss caused by PTC. Optic nerve sheath decompression (ONSD) causes reversal of visual loss in these patients with low rate of complications and long term stability.
