Abstract
The association between H.pylori infection and coronary artery diseases and thrombotic cerebrovascular disease in diabetic patients could be possible on the histopathological basis in this study. This effect could be explained by the ability of H. pylori to promote the synthesis and release of acute phase reactants especially in diabetic patients. And the fact that H. pylori infection can be effectively treated opens intriguing possibilities of lowering vascular disease risk in diabetic patients already burdened by this important complication.
