Abstract
A multitude of primary neoplasms and cysts may arise in the mediastinum. Computed tomography is one of the most commonly performed imaging modalities in assessment of the mediastinum. Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) offers a unique way of imaging airway and parabronchial structures during a bronchoscopic procedure. It is valuable to find out whether the addition of EBUS to regular bronchoscopy can help to confirm mediastinal lesions and to improve the yield of transbronchial needle aspiration.
