The clivus is the anteroinferior boundary of the posterior cranial fossa. Various lesions may involve the clivus whether extradural or intradural. Computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are the most commonly used investigations to evaluate clival lesions. Numerous surgical approaches have been used to gain access to the clivus. These approaches may reach the clivus through anterior, anterolateral, lateral, posterolateral and posterior corridors.
