Abstract

Parkinson Disease (PD) is a common, progressive neurodegenerative disease that results in significant disability 10 to 15 years after the onset and have a social and financial burden on the patient and the community. Impaired cardiovascular autonomic regulation has been associated with Parkinson Disease. This included assessment of heart rate variability test and neurophysiologic assessment of cardiovascular autonomic regulation using R-R test, both showed impaired in our patients. Serum dopamine level was measured to correlate it with the cardiovascular autonomic function using high-Performance Liquid Chromatorgraphy (HPLC) technique. The quality of life of patients with PD was assessed using PDQ-39, a disease-specific, valid and reliable questionnaire for quality of life. All domains were affected in our patients while using the PDQ-39 questionnaire.
