Abstract

This study was performed on 48 patients from the Egyptian RailwayHospital. They are classified into C.R.F. patients on R.H.D. for more than6 months and C.K.D. patients not starting hemodialysis and 10 persons ascontrol. Each patient was subjected to full history taking, full clinicalexamination and laboratory investigations including:-(S.creatinine, Bl.urea, S.calcium, S.phosphorus, P.T.H, S.cholesterol,S.triglyceride, S.albumin, and F.G.F.23) and non contrast CT abdomenand A.C.I. was measured. We concluded that there is strong positiverelationship between FGF23 and ACI. This positive correlation may openthe gate for routine estimation of this agent as a surrogate marker ofarterial calcification.
