Our objective is to study supraventricular tachycardia in pediatric patients admitted to the Emergency Department of Pediatrics Specialized Hospital, Cairo University, during the period from June 2003 to June 2006. The study included 55 patients with 17 females and 38 males. Among our patients, SVT affected males more than females. Most of the patients were infants and outpatients with the highest admission rate in summer then winter. Mortality rate (after 24 hours) was 4%. Male to female mortality ratio was 3:1 with most of them were infants and outpatients. SVT had good prognosis. The cure rate reached more than 90%.
