Zinc deficiency is more prevalent in the developing countries and it is considered as one of the major nutritional factor responsible for stunting in children before puberty . Objectives : The aim of this work is studying serum zinc pattern and body growth among pre school and school-age children. Subjects and methods : One hundred child was conveniently selected from the out patients clinic at the National Nutrition Institute Cairo. These children were subjected for the following: anthropoemetric measurements, full dietary history. All the included subjects were having serum zinc, and hemoglobin level estimation. Stool examination. Results : Zinc deficiency was evident in about 24% of the included subjects Anemia was prevalent in 66% of the included subjects. Finally, all the included subjects suffered from parasitic infection.
