Abstract

Accelerated arterial stiffness has been linked to diabetes , hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia and impaired glucose tolerance in our study we found that diabetic patients had higher systolic blood pressure, pulse pressure, average pulse wave velocity, higher incidence of diastolic dysfunction . Glycosylated haemoglobin showed a significantly positive correlation with pulse wave velocity and with mean intima media thickness.
