Abstract

This work is aiming to study the morpho-histological structures of the menisci of the human knee joint and correlating them with their MRI appearance to elucidate the different false positive and negative MRI interpretations of the menisci. In this study thirty human knee joint cadavers were randomly chosen irrespective to age, sex and side. The cadaver knee joints were subjected first to magnetic resonance examination and careful radiological interpretation of their images. The same knee joint specimens studied by MRI were subjected to anatomical dissection and morpho-histological study. The MRI and morpholo-histological results were correlated together.
