Abstract
This study was conducted on 30 patients with 1ry HCC to compare the outcome of treatment by radiofrequency ablation (RFA) versus percutaneous ethanol injection (PEI). Results showed overall success rate of RFA of 79.8 % versus 82.3 % for PEI group. Major complications occurred in 6 patients of RFA group compared with 5 patients of PEI group. The response for each modality was evaluated by abdominal ultrasound, power Doppler sonography alpha feto protein level and histopathological examination.
