Abstract

The problem of ascites plays a great role in the patient’s complaint as the number of patient’s with ascites is increasing. Although medical treatment plays a great role in controlling ascites, refractory ascites with inadequate response salt and high dose of diuretics is a problem we have to face with its manifestations such as no loss of weight or development of complications of ascites such as gastrointestinal hemorrhage, bacterial infection,.......etc. It represents about 10 % of cirrhotic patients.Other therapeutic options should be thought for this group such as liver transplantation, chronic outpatient paracentiesis, transjugular intrahepatic portosysystemic shunting (TIPs) and perotenio-venous shunts. This study correlated the operative intervention for Denever shunt and its relations or complications in the coagulation process in 25 patients with the following criteria:
