Abstract

The current study was performed to evaluate the effect of grafting the peri-implant defects that occur following tooth extraction and immediate placement of implants clinically and radiographically. Ten subjects with a total of 12 maxillary single rooted teeth were included in this study. They were assigned in one of two groups. Group A: In which, the peri-implant bone defects around 6 immediately placed implants were grafted using Bio-Oss®. Group B: In which, the peri-implant bone defects around 6 immediately placed implants were not grafted to act as control. At the end of this 6-month study, Grafting of peri-implant defects seems to provide no favorable outcomes over the non-grafting ones.
