Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of sphenozygomatic suture reduction on reconstruction of the zygomaticomaxillary complex fracture. Six patients were involved in this study with unilateral ZMC fracture which was reduced and fixed by plates and screws. The SZS was reduced only without fixation from inside the orbit by checking the lateral orbital wall. A multislice CT scan used to evaluate the fractures lines pre and post operatively. The result of this study showed a significance role of SZS reduction in reconstruction of ZMC fractures. We concluded that the SZS play an important role in reconstruction of ZMC fractures.
