Abstract

Aim of this study was to assess the effect of sole placement of non‐resorbablemembrane versus buccal advancement flap in closure of oroantral communicaon on 6.adult male dogs clinically and histologically using Hematoxylin and Eosin StainIn this prospecve clinical study, Dogs randomly divided into 2 equal groups:Group I: contained 3 dogs (6 sinuses) sacrificed aer 4 weeksGroup II: contained 3 dogs (6 sinuses) sacrificed aer 3 monthsIn both groups, the created oroantral communication in the right sidewas closed with buccal advancement flap with water tight closure, andthe left side in the same dog was closed with non‐resorbable membraneand over closure. The results of this series support the view that the use of polytetrafluoroethylenemembrane is simple, convenient, has highest osteoblastic activity, improves bone healingand allows successful method for treatment avoiding complication of buccal flap
