Abstract

Objective: This study was performed to To evaluate clinically, histologically and radiographically the bone quality and implant stability in the extraction site preserved With platelet rich fibrin at 2 and 3 months post grafting. Methods: The present study was conducted on twelve patients who indicated for delayed implant placement in the posterior mandibular region. Forteen lower posterior teeth were extracted. Twelve sockets were preserved with platelet rich fibrin(PRF) material, two sockets were left as control (without grafting). According to the timing of implant placement, the study cases were divided into two equal group. Group (I) Included six sites in which had implants were placed after 2 months. Group(II) Included six sites in which had implants were placed after 3 months. Implant placement was done in one of the control cases after 2 months and for the second case after 3 months. Conclusion: Placement of platelet rich fibrin in fresh extraction sockets enhanced bone healing and allowed placement of implants after 2 months with comparable primary stability to those placed 3 months after extraction.
