Objectives : The aim of this study was to figure out the prevalence of Early Childhood Caries in a group of Egyptian children in Cairo governorate and to apply and test an audio-visual aid for educating and raising awareness of overall oral health of infants and young children among their primary caregivers.Methods: The study was performed on 1000 Egyptian child (male and female) their age between 2-4 years old at fifth settlement medical center – New Cairo city in Cairo governorate.Results: Early childhood caries prevalence was 18.4% in fifth settlement medical center – New Cairo city. Early childhood caries prevalence increase steadily by age and no significant difference in early childhood caries prevalence between boys and girls. Conclusion: Early childhood caries prevalence increase steadily by age and no significant difference in early childhood caries prevalence between boys and girls. Early childhood caries is highly prevalent among those with increased frequency of nursing prolonged periods and nursing during sleep. There is substantial lack of basic knowledge regarding infant oral health. The Audio-Visual aid is an effective tool in providing anticipatory guidance for infant oral health in high-risk populations.
