Abstract

A 3D finite element analysis study was carried out to evaluate the effect of implant length and diameter on the stress distribution in an implant supported crown in osteoporotic bone. The current study was carried out on an edentulous maxillary segment restored with an implant supported restoration. The geometry of the maxillary edentulous segment was derived from a CT of the patient and the measurements of the segment were done in image viewing software called Mimics. The whole model was divided into their elements and nodes of 0.5 mm using the mesher of Solidworks. Four models with 4 different implant lengths and diameters were used in the study.
