Abstract

Intrauterine growth restriction is a serious problem that affects the growth of the fetal overall body. The sure diagnosis of it is a difficult issue for almost all obstetricians. In IUGR the blood flow redistribution increases the blood flow to all fetal vital organs while diminishes the blood flow to other organs, which may affect the normal growth of these organs. (Brain sparing effect) fetal renal volume might be one of the important parameters of fetal growth and in our study we try to detect the effect of fetal growth restriction on fetal renal volume and blood supply. We depended on the VOCAL mode of the 3-D U/S in our study to measure the fetal renal volume and on Doppler to evaluate the fetal renal blood supply.
