In this study, comparison between three types of reliningmaterials was done. 30 patients were selected and dividedinto three groups:•Group I: Ten patients with dentures relined with softchairside relining material.•Group II: Ten patients with dentures relined with hardchairside relining material.•Group III: Ten patients with dentures relined withconventional heat cured relining material. The three groups were compared for retention anddimensional changes. The retention of maxillary denture wastested by measuring force required to dislodge the denturefrom the basal seat using Forcemeter tension gauge.Measurements were performed at 3months, 6months and9months after relining. The dimensional changes were measured by x-ray.Radiographic evaluation was performed immediately afterrelining, after 3months, 6months and 9months. A comparisonwas made between the different readings to determine thedimensional changes of each relining material. In this study, the retention of chairside relining techniquewas higher than that of laboratory technique. The retention ofsoft liner was more than hard liner. The dimensional changes after relining was not significantwith both hard and soft relining materials, but it was greaterin soft relining material than the hard one.The heat cured relining resin proved to have the smallestdimensional change as well as the greatest dimensionalstability in comparison with the other relining materials.
