Abstract

In this study, a total of 27 auricular reconstruction in 25 patients (2 bilateral) with microtia (26 congenital and one traumatic) were done by the use of autogenous costal cartilage framework. The results showed only one case of major complication (3.7%), two cases of moderate complications (7.4%), and four cases of minor complications (14.8%). The surgeon’s evaluation were good in23 cases (85%), fair in 3 cases (11.3%) and poor in one case (3.7%). 24 cases (88.8%) were pleased with the results and glade that they had surgical repair, one case was undecided and 2 cases were unsatisfied with the results.
