This study was designed to assess the quality of life and social functioning in a sample of Egyptian chronic schizophrenic patients. The results show that there is negative correlation between positive symptoms and both quality of life and social functioning. The same correlation was found between negative symptoms and quality of life and social functioning with particular correlation between specific positive and negative symptoms and the domains of both quality of life and social functioning scales.
