Abstract

The aim of this study was to assess color change of demineralized and discolored enamel lesions treated with resin infiltration compared to microabrasion. A total number of 20 maxilliary central incisors were used in this study. The root of each tooth was removed and the remaining crown was sectioned into two halves labiolingually according to treatment of lesions; either resin infiltration or microabrasion. The color of all specimens (40 tooth halves) was assessed at baseline before treatment representing Sound Enamel. Twenty specimens were subjected to demineralization while the other 20 specimens were subjected to demineralization followed by discoloration. Assessment of specimens was done following treatment and finally after a staining challenge.
