تركز هذه الدراسة على تقديم تقنية البرمجة الخطية (L.P.) للطلاب ذوي الخلفية المحدودة في الرياضيات والإحصاء. تهدف إلى تعريف القارئ بالمفاهيم الأساسية التي تمكنه من تطبيق هذه التقنية على مشاكله دون الخوض في البراهين الرياضية المعقدة إلا عند الضرورة. يشمل الفصل أمثلة وتمارين متعددة لتوضيح المفاهيم. تنظيم الفصل يتضمن: تعريف مشكلة البرمجة الخطية، تقنية النقل، تقنية السمبلكس، النموذج المزدوج، وتحليل ما بعد الأمثلية. يتم استخدام تقنية النقل لحل فئة خاصة من مشكلات البرمجة الخطية، بينما تعتبر تقنية السمبلكس أكثر شمولية. أما تحليل ما بعد الأمثلية فيتناول تأثير تغييرات المعلمات على الحل الأمثل.
