The third seminar of the '' Experts Meeting'' for the year 2024/2025 addressed the issue of food subsidies in Egypt as a major social and political focus. Experts discussed the current state of the food support system, which has evolved over decades to address the challenges of poverty and food insecurity. Discussions included alternatives to reform, such as switching to cash or conditional support rather than in-kind support. The recommendations stressed the importance of improving targeting and increasing the efficiency of support to reduce waste and ensure that the most needy groups benefit. The importance of strengthening economic empowerment programs and community partnerships to achieve sustainable food security was also reviewed
