This study focuses on economic transactions recorded in national accounts, which are the economic activities carried out by different economic units such as individuals, businesses, and public institutions. National accounting serves as a method to describe a country’s economic activity over a specific period using quantitative language and relationships between economic units. The study centers on identifying the economic units that form the national accounting framework, as well as defining the economic transactions to be recorded within this framework. The introduction provides a brief overview of key developments in national account preparation, with the main focus on how to select, estimate, and record economic transactions.
