تعتبر النظرية العامة لكينز حول التوظف والفائدة والنقود نقطة تحول كبيرة في الفكر الاقتصادي، حيث تركز على تحليل الدخل القومي والتفاعل بين العلاقات الأساسية التي تحدد مستوى الدخل. يحدد كينز أن الدخل القومي لا يعود إلى مستوى التوازن بعد تأثره بمؤثرات خارجية، بل يستقر عند مستوى توازن جديد. كما تبين النظرية أن هذا المستوى لا يجب أن يكون عند التوظيف الكامل كما قالت النظرية الكلاسيكية، بل يمكن أن يختلف. أحد أهم تطورات هذه النظرية هو ربطها بين الإنتاج والتوظيف والأسعار والنقود ضمن إطار واحد، مما يسهل فهم تأثير التغيرات في كمية النقود على الاقتصاد. العوامل النقدية تؤثر في الدخل عن طريق عدة علاقات أساسية: دالة الاستهلاك، دالة الاستثمار، ودالة التفصيل النقدي.

Keynes' General Theory on employment, interest, and money represents a major shift in economic thinking, focusing on the analysis of national income and the interaction of key relationships determining income levels. Keynes asserts that national income does not return to equilibrium after being affected by external shocks but instead settles at a new equilibrium level. Unlike classical theory, this level does not have to be full employment and may be lower. A significant advancement of this theory is the integration of production, employment, prices, and money into a unified framework, allowing better understanding of how changes in the money supply impact the economy. Monetary factors influence income through several core relationships: the consumption function, the investment function, and the money multiplier function.
