The effect of using Base Isolation technique to balance the torsion in asymmetric multi-story Structures was studied. This is performed by comparing the results of using two techniques of base isolation system distributions under real multi story asymmetric buildings. The first technique is a uniform distribution of base isolation devices that have the same horizontal stiffness whoever the second technique is new suggested distribution of base isolation system executed by redistributing the horizontal stiffness of base isolation devices based on the structure eccentricity. The study concluded that the use of seismic isolation is very effective to reduce shear forces transmitted to the foundation, as well as drifts whether it is using base isolation with uniform stiffness distribution or redistributing the horizontal stiffness of base isolation devices based on the structure eccentricity. But the latter is much better to reduce tensional response.
