Management of Energy Based on Intelligent Controller for Plug-in Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Vehicles

Abstract
— Reducing energy consumption and preserving the environment are the main aims for searching for the development of electric vehicles (EVs). The long charging time and short driving distance are considered two serious issues in EVs. Hence, a plug-in fuel cell hybrid electric vehicle (PFCHEV) is a type of hybrid electric vehicle (HEVs) uses a fuel cell tank instead of an internal consumption engine. In PFCHEV, a fuel cell and a Li-ion storage battery are the main power sources. To raise the efficiency of saving power in the HEVs, an artificial adaptive neuro-fuzzy controller (AANFC) technique is presented to manage and split power among the two power sources to reduce the cost function. In addition to, AANFC decreases the error between the required and the actual torque and can face any disturbance as changing the road's slope. The presented strategy increases the lifetime of the Li-ion battery and the performance of the vehicle. Simulation results illustrate the implementation of AANFC. Scheme for the PIFCHEV management power system using Matlab/Simulink.
