Criminal protection of the right to privacy of personal data" discusses the importance of privacy protection in the light of technological developments, as the development of technologies has facilitated the violation of privacy and personal data without the victim's awareness. The study reviews the concept of the right to privacy, noting that it includes the protection of personal secrets and the inviolability of private life, and clarifies the difference in jurisprudence definitions related to it, and the study focuses on the criminal protection of the right to privacy in Egyptian and Kuwaiti laws, by addressing multiple images such as the inviolability of the home, the confidentiality of correspondence and communications, and the inviolability of personal data. The study reviews the legal texts criminalizing the violation of privacy in both legislations, clarifies the differences between them, and highlights the challenges imposed by the technological revolution, such as spying on personal data and its illegal use, which prompted lawmakers to develop laws to protect this data. It also reviews legislative protection mechanisms that include criminalization of electronic signature forgery and illegal data handling.
